NAJJAH CALIBUR TO HOST GENRE SWAP 2023

(Oshawa, ON) On April 5, 2023, Genre Swap will take place at the Oshawa Shrine Club for an epic clash of genres with the theme “Legends”. This year will have the amazing talents Sarah Tomlinson, Aion Clarke, Donte Brown, and Trevor Kelly. Doors are open at 6:30pm and the event will start at 7:00pm, tickets are $5 and are available on Eventbrite. The event will take place over three hours ending at 10:00pm. Proceeds from the event will be going to Durham’s Feed the Need.
The event will entail four artists of different genres coming together to explore each other's genres, presenting a song of their own and a cover of a song from their opponent’s genre to the audience. These presentations will be a part of a competition with an overall winner decided at the end. There will also be an opportunity for the artists and our host to sit with the audience to discuss their genre and their career journey.
Donte Brown will be our R&B representative, Aion Clarke for Reggae, Sarah Tomlinson for Pop, and Trevor Kelly with Rock. Our host for the evening is Najjah Calibur, originally from Ajax, Ontario. He has just returned from hosting the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, is a multi-genre artist, and has performed on tour with the likes of the Black Eyed Peas.
With a little less than two weeks to the event itself, tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite and at the door.
