As the first semester of the 2023 Music Business program comes to a close, students celebrated the festive season at the Christmas Jingle and Mingle Event hosted by Breakthru Events on the 8th of December at the 504 Club in downtown Oshawa with joy, laughter, and – yes, you guessed it – music!
From performances to games, prizes and karaoke, the evening was jam-packed with festive fun from the get-go. Draped in the most wonderful Christmas trimmings, the club came alive as students arrived in their very best ugly sweaters and festive colours. The night started with stellar performances by Townline Artist Management artists Rajvir, Ashcoustics, and Icey Eleyi. This set the perfect tone for the evening, further filling the air with holiday cheer and musical magic.
Prizes were up for grabs for the best festive wear and Christmas Bingo that ran throughout the night, drawing attendees to showcase their festive ensembles transforming the club into a sea of red, green, and shimmering lights. Lucky winners Xavier Beleskey for best festival wear, and Keandra Cardinal for dominating Christmas Bingo, walked away with more than festive cheer, but also a $50 Durham College Bookstore gift card and DC cup with delectable chocolates and candy. But the fun didn’t stop there! The sweetest challenges of the night came in the form of guessing games where students were invited to estimate the total number of candies in a jar with the winner not only taking home the jar, but also the assortment of candies within. The night then reached its peak with a lively karaoke session making every attendee a star, belting out their favourite tunes. Laughter, dancing, and friendship filled the air, bringing the memorable event to a close.
The Breakthru Events team provided students a fun, festive evening, setting the tone for the new semester that awaits. Attendees left with smiles on their faces, new friendships formed, and hearts full of holiday spirit, serving as a reminder of the community that the wonderful magic of Christmas can bring together.
