By teasing the release of their 2023 studio album, 72 Seasons, Metallica has released their first musical piece after 6 years. ‘Lux Æterna’ is a speedy, driven, and hard rocking piece that Metallica fans have been patiently yet restlessly waiting for. ‘Lux Æterna’ is the sixth track off of the newly anticipated album. Metallica is keeping their classic energetic and lucid sound alive by announcing their latest single, to be featured on their upcoming album, which will be supported by a newly announced North American and European tour for 2023 and 2024. Metallica will also be supported by artists Pantera, Mammoth WVH, Five Finger Death Punch, and Ice Nine Kills.

The 3 minute 25 second song features exceptional double-bass drum action from Lars Ulrich. ‘Lux Æterna’ captures the same energy as some of their early hits, such as ‘Master Of Puppets’, which recently became popular amongst younger generations after being featured in the Netflix series, Stranger Things.

‘Lux Æterna’ was released on November 28th, 2022, and has already gained over 6 million streams on Spotify alone... Needless to say that Metallica have been missed by their fans, both old and new. ‘Lux Æterna’ is available on all music streaming platforms.
