The End of the Flashback 2022-2023 Season

The students in the Music Business program at Durham College were immensely successful in the operations of the CENT enterprises through 2022 and 2023. Flashback would like to express thanks and gratitude to Kathryn Waugh, Marni Thornton, and our fellow CENT enterprises for all of the hard work and dedication put into our CENT classes and the Music Business program. Congratulations to everyone on a successful year!

As the 2022-2023 Flashback season ends, the Flashback team would like to give a big thank you to our manager Kyla Campbell. Kyla, you have been an incredible manager to the Flashback team, we could not have asked for a better manager. Thank you for leading our team in a positive and progressive direction. Your strong vision is what keeps our team together. You are an amazing team leader and mentor, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavours!

On behalf of Matthew Rafael, one of our Flashback photographers, and myself, Abby Power, we would like to announce that we will be managing the Flashback enterprise for the 2023-2024 year.

Here are a couple words from Matthew Rafael.

“I’m scared but also excited. I want to build off of what Kyla [was] able to create for Flashback, and I want to try and bring Flashback to the next level.”

As the current journalist for Flashback, the enterprise gave me an opportunity to write about topics that I was interested in. I was able to network with many individuals within the music industry and connect with some of my own friends who were artists in the program. Flashback gave me the opportunity to be free-flowing with my writing and I am super grateful for the opportunity. As a new co-manager of Flashback, alongside Matthew Rafael, I am super excited to take Flashback in a progressive direction.

Finally, here is a farewell message from Kyla Campbell.

“I am so happy to have had the opportunity to be the manager of Flashback. It was an honour to work alongside such a talented and dedicated team. I am immensely proud of what we were able to accomplish together including but not limited to 7 newsletter releases, over 15 photoshoots and 1 newsletter release. The commitment demonstrated by the 2022/2023 Flashback team was truly exceptional, and I am grateful for their contributions to the enterprise.

My time as a manager at Flashback was an immensely rewarding experience, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. Looking ahead, I am excited to see the direction that Flashback takes under the leadership of its new managers, and I have no doubt that they will continue to drive the enterprise forward with the same level of passion and dedication.”
