Taylor Swift took over the City of Toronto for two weekends where she had six sold out shows at Rogers Centre. Saturday, November 23 she had her sixth and final show at the stadium. Opening for Taylor Swift was Gracie Abrams. Between both acts it was a memorable night for all the fans that were in attendance for the show.
Gracie Abrams hit the stage at 6:45 performing nine of her songs including Risk, I Told You Things, and Close to You. Gracie also performed Us, which she wrote alongside Taylor Swift last year. She told the crowd about writing the song alongside Swift while drunk after a dinner they went to together. She closed her set with That’s So True, her most recent hit single. The crowd came to life as she performed her set, singing along to all of her songs. By the time Gracie walked off stage the whole stadium was buzzing with excitement as they waited for Taylor come out.
The crowd erupted into loud screams as Taylor Swift came on stage singing Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince. She continued through the Lover era for a few more songs before moving on to the next album eras; she went through Fearless, Red, and Speak Now as the crowd sang and danced along to all the great songs. Next, were the Folklore/Evermore set, where Swift shed a few tears saying “I’m just having a bit of a moment – it’s not even the last show” after Champagne Problems when the crowed cheered for her and began chanting her name. Next, she moved onto the 1989 era singing some of her biggest hits from that album before beginning the era for her most recent album The Tortured Poets Department. Finally, it was surprise song o’clock and fans waited with bated breath to hear what surprise song mash ups they would get. The first mash up was an acoustic version of Sparks Fly and Message in a Bottle and the second was You’re Losing Me and How Did It End on piano. This brings us the final era of the show where she performs songs from her 2023 album Midnights closing the show with the song Karma.
Taylor Swift put on a phenomenal performance for her fans and gave everyone an experience that will be remembered by all. Playing through each of her album eras the show was perfect for all fans in attendance, both old and new. The Eras tour has officially wrapped up in Toronto and heads to Vancouver for its final stop of her tour that started in March last year.
